[So, he returned home, for an entire century. While a part of him is glad that Alexander was able to return home-- apparently return to his reality without time moving on without him, another part of him is concerned with the actual implications of his words. A whole century of being constantly run down and busy, to the point that he's been unable to take care of himself. Not even he's that much of a workaholic, if only because he's only been an X-Man for about 10 years now.
A fraction of his time of even returning home, let alone how old he actually is.
And because Scott can't help but be blunt, especially when it ties to him being worried--]
Yeah, it's pretty bad. Worse than you probably imagine.
[So supportive. He's placed his own mug on a nearby table as he looks up and down Alexander's form, eyes almost critical behind his glasses.] There aren't more hours than 24 unless you've become delirious or hit a new plane of existence.
[MORE FROWNING.]
But I'm fine. [He's not but don't worry about it, he can hide it better--] And you're not killing anyone, you're resting right there with that coffee. Probably should get a barber up here to cut your hair too.
[There's a genuinely look of surprise to hear his actual bluntness. He isn't bothered by it at all. In fact, he's quite grateful that he is. He isn't biased about his opinion, and has never been the one to coddle him either so. That look of surprise quickly changes to amusement.]
I have to admit, it is rather refreshing to have someone tell me that. Outside of my family, there are those who are too scared to be honest with me. But we are similar to siblings, no? Not to take away from your brother, who is here.
[He should really tie his hair up then, if it looks bad... Still, he notices that critique in his eyes, and he can only make a face in return.]
Perhaps a new plane of existence... Either way, it is fine for now. I have no obligations here.
[His hair is placed to the side, letting it drape over his shoulder.]
Alright, alright. I do understand.
[Now that Scott is here though, he feels a bit more comforted. Happily patting the place beside him so that they can sit together.]
[Or need to hear. He truly takes no offense to the comparison of siblings, quite the opposite in fact. His relationship with Alex is very important to him and can't be replaced, but it doesn't diminish that protectiveness and sometimes bossy attitude he gets while being around Alexander. Plus he knows how significant it is of a thing to be compared to his sister and so he's been taking all this seriously.
Hence, some Squinting when the celestial continues to say he's fine. It's fine. Hm, he'll be the judge of that. He'll at least relent and move to sit down next to him, the mutant getting comfortable before sending that trademark raised eyebrow at him.]
Anything I should really know about? While you were at home?
[Someone or something that he needs to hyperfocus on--]
[Alexander can only scoff, but there's no real feeling to it. It's all too similar to his own feelings, since he's the least bossy out of all of them. Still, he doesn't mind -- he finds it endearing. He is the same, but much more subtle about it due to his shy nature. Unfortunately still far too shy and a bit of a pushover after all these years.
So, when Scott starts squinting at him, he can't help but raise an eyebrow. He isn't really good at hiding things like this and he can only keep a flat line so that Scott doesn't try and look behind his stoic face.]
... I have two more children, so five in total. I am still married to the same three people, but I am infinitely busier than before. It's all my uncle's fault.
[Alexander pushes down the way his heart clenches, managing a fairly fake smile. The last thing he wants to do is worry Scott again and again.]
That is the only major thing.
[He leans back on the floor, resting his head against one of the poorly place pillows.]
I would be careful with our court leader... It seems as if they can do anything they wish. He summoned me to his room, and the next thing I know, I was laying on the floor. Try... and be careful.
[He's so tired right now, that he's a bit more candid. Then again, this is Scott.]
Because I do not know how I will react if something bad were to happen to you. Or worse... You leave.
[...Being married to three people and raising five children sounds like enough work on its own. Damn. He wonders if that's a more 'normal' custom in Alexander's culture, and honestly that alone would explain how exhausted he looks right now. Of course, that's not the only thing, but... whew. Yeah, Scott definitely feels sympathetic for his whole deal, even if he's happy with his family. You can love them, but also feel worn out too.
Maybe he can relate on some way, with the X-Men and the mutants. A different kind of family, but a family nonetheless.]
If you need to talk about anything, you know that I'm here. My offer to listen is always on the table.
[Whether it's talking about his family, his uncle, he doesn't mind. He will take on other's burdens because it's the natural thing for him and honestly, this isn't a burden at all. It's merely listening-- he wants to. He wants to be there for others, even if he doesn't always outwardly express that feeling.
Though he nods as Alexander warns him about the court leader. All powerful, even to a celestial. Almost frightening in a way, but he doesn't let it get to him. He can't.]
I... promise to be careful.
[There's a hint of surprise at that revelation. Has he really made such an impact on him? Touching in a way, but also worrying. He does not want his friend to have a breakdown or anything if he suddenly leaves-- a fact that he wouldn't be able to help. Guess this means he shouldn't mention the whole dying thing during the Hunt, huh? Yeah.]
[In a way, he figures that Scott might understand the feeling. Scott doesn't seem to be married, or have children, but he did mention working with students and having a bond with his fellow mutants... He's more relatable to him because, in truth, they may be a bit mortal or "human" in that regard. His status back home meant nothing to him; he was just more powerful than others.]
... I appreciate it, but it is the same old deal. I miss everyone back home, and will always miss them as long as I am here. As tired as I was back home, I could still see them. Even if it may have been a week or two, they were still within my grasps.
[As worn out as he was there, now that he's here, he longs for those days now. It's a painful memory now, but he squeezes his eyes closed to push down any sense of tears that try and escape from his eyes. Instead, he shifts just a bit closer to Scott, even if he might be too tired to move.
He does stop once he's close, and he slowly rests his forehead against Scott's shoulder. Body limping just enough to let him relax against the other man's body. A huge compliment and sense of trust that he hardly has with anyone here.]
... I suppose, the thing I'm having the most trouble with... Is that I feel conflicted.
[He pauses.]
I do wish to be home; nothing will ever replace that. However, I have forged bonds here that would make me miss being here. I don't know if I would have memories of this place but if I did, I would truly miss it. Even if I want to go home so desperately so -- that I would try through other means.
