[It takes a couple of minutes for Scott to respond, mostly because he's just staring at the words on the screen with a mixture of emotions. He's... glad that Cable is back home? But also. Upset in a way? Angry at himself? For not trying a little harder to know more about him. Because he was his... son. From possibly the same universe?
All of that is still confusing as hell, but. He actually liked Cable.
( and trust that he would if he was still here, given this version of cable doesn't seem to use telepathy and, therefore, wouldn't try and hide from him for whatever reason. )
[If Nate can't feel him... that's basically confirmation, right? And yet, Scott finds himself staring uselessly at his bowl, maybe wanting to do something even if it's too late.]
I feel like we should try looking for him. Even just a little bit.

( it's a little different for nate. everyone he's come to have as family or want to have as family has died or disappeared on him. cable wasn't the man he knew back on the earth he's come from, but. he was still a brother to him and, once again, he's lost that. )
