Very much so! We deal with cases that are too complicated for the police, usually supernatural, definitely due to other ability-users. We have police clearance and everything!
(an extra pair of hands would be wonderful in that case.)
[Huh... a detective agency that deals specifically with people that have abilities and stuff. Scott doesn't think anything like that exists in his world, but he can possibly see the need for one, especially if there are some mutants out there that want to use their powers for shitty reasons. Or maybe just start an agency to help locate lost mutants and stuff.
Maybe it's something to look into. He can at least propose that idea to Professor Xavier, right? That's part of being 'a productive member of society.']
Don't know how the police trust you with anything.
[Scott snorts, but he seems oddly hopeful about all this. Even if he can't personally join Dazai's agency, he's gotten an idea or two at least from his dumb ramblings.] If I see your agency back home, I guess I'll take a look. Figure out how your business is still operating.
(he laughs, although, point taken. he's horrible at work, anyway. all he does is what he wants, plans not disclosed unless needed, cards played under tables and then, boom!-- that is, when he's not whining, bitching, sleeping, slacking, being dazai, etc, it all works out.)
Oh, pretty simple. Two strategists, one doctor -- don't ever get too hurt, you wouldn't like her, a man who's crazy about his schedule, and our wonderful attack teams, all under our President's orders. I'd hope you could join, his ability makes it so you can control yours at different levels if you're his subordinate.
[The more he hears about this detective agency, the more questions he honestly has. Kind of weird that they have their own personal doctor and whatever, but guess that's how his business works. Dazai sort of has that 'do whatever' energy too.]
Huh... so he can control the strength of my optic blasts? [That's an interesting thought. Make it so that when he shoots his beams, they aren't always completely destructive and everything. Yeah, that'd really be useful. Scott lets out a thoughtful noise, his legs swinging from his seat.]
I mean, I don't wanna be anyone's subordinate, but it's interesting. [He nudges Dazai slightly with a slight look of exasperation.] You don't have to convince me to take a look, okay? I said I'll visit if it's there.
He can't control anything. He makes you able to control it! You could say goodbye to your glasses! Unfortunately, doesn't work on me, as we know, 'No Longer Human' doesn't like company at all!
(it'd be... interesting. he's always touching others, but he knows it's often unwanted - not only because dazai's a piece of shit, but because to people like them, being ability-less means to be vulnerable, fragile, defenseless. uncomfortable, to say the least. to turn it on and off would be a dream, too, the pain he has to go through simply because he can't be healed is off the charts.)
Hooray! ♫ I haven't been in a year! Enjoy my desk full of paperwork!
[Scott reaches over to his eyes for a moment, almost like he's feeling for his glasses, but he stops, because they're off now. They've been off this entire time he's been talking to Dazai and it's not like he's forgotten, but it's getting more and more familiar just always having them on. It'd be so useful having the ability to control his optic blasts, turning them on and off whenever he wants to and not needing to rely on an object to keep them maintained.
He still doesn't think he'd be able to go to Dazai's workplace back home, but it's nice to have some hope. Probably means that there's something possible back in his world, with mutants having all sorts of unusual powers too.]
A whole year? Are you sure that you're not just fired now?
(if he manages some luck, he'll survive. it's tough to be against fyodor, it's like playing chess with himself and having no mercy on his adversary. it's not so fun to be so smart, but alas, that's not the point. fyodor might manage to kill him, with his legs broken, ribs shattered, it might be his end as soon as he returns.
lucky him? who knows.)
They can't fire me! I'm the only one with this sort of ability.
