Then all the more reason why we need to talk to them and see what will happen.
Of course, they won't be honest but...
At least it's something. [And yet, he really really wanted to be hopeful but he's also prepared for the worst case scenario. However, he won't say that. Not to Scott anyway]

Oh, fuck no. Do they control it? It sounds like a literal headache.
(he doesn't know any other way to be. not when every older influence in his surroundings lived the life he leads. this means something to him, the culture the youth built and he breathed in during his formative years, shaping him with so many standards that he couldn't even dream of being anyone else.
he doesn't mind normal, that said. not shoes he could fit, but it's a different experience, and experience is what makes someone.)
Those other ones I don't know. I don't know so many people, anyway, which is fine. I'm grateful for those I have. I guess part of me is just thinks more of ToMan will show up here, even if I'd rather them not to. We are a gang, after all, some of us are locked up, so I figure if this place is looking for crime committing and they found Takemitchy and me, they might bring the who belong to me at the end of the day.
... Or the rest of the motherfuckers, which really ain't thrilling.

[On Christmas Day, Scott will hear a knock at his door. When he opens it, however, no one is there! Curious. Left in place of whoever knocked is a small parcel, wrapped in festive paper and ribbons. Inside of the parcel, Scott will find several printed photographs of Kotone, posed cutely at first and then suggestively, with a final two where she is only in an oversized shirt Scott would recognize as his own and a pair of pink panties. Included is a thumb drive and a note, written in messy handwriting.]
so the object of a secret santa is for me to not tell you who i am giving this to you, so i'm not gonna say, but.
so you don't worry, these come with the disclaimer that she consented to these and we're all friends.
merry christmas, scott, have a physical spank bank and also some cute photos. :)
there's more on the usb stick-- plug it into your tablet but be careful, that's where most of the racier ones are. >:)

[BUDDY THAT'S WEIRD?? And now she's even more concerned. But also Mikey just blocked her so you know what this is a literal foot in the door--]
Hmm, ok! I'll see you after dinner then. :D
<3
[Maybe he's sick and he just doesn't want to get her sick? But she doesn't know why he wouldn't just say so if that were true. Either way, she's just going to make some simple chicken soup, just in case, and let herself into his house with a cheerful call of,] It's me! [as if she isn't at all worried. It's not remotely true, of course, but she can fake it until she finds out what's going on.
And with a knock on his door, she adds without losing her smile,] Have you eaten anything in a while?

[She does try the door, and this time her smile does fade, because it's weird that it's locked. No point faking a smile when he's doing something so obviously strange. She can't even quite muster a smile at the crack about sandwiches.
With her hand on the knob, she just thunks her forehead lightly against the closed door, confused and more than a little hurt that he's quite literally shutting her out.]
Why not?
[He doesn't sound like he has a cold or anything, and he's obviously well enough to come over to the door. Her lips press tightly shut, but she keeps her voice calm, trying to keep the confusion closer to the surface and hide the hurt.]

Tell me what's wrong.
[It's a quiet command, just loud enough to be heard through the door. She doesn't jiggle the knob or try to push her way through -- she keeps her voice calm, as if somehow she could take her own strength and shove it through the door to keep him going and help break him out of -- whatever bout of self-pity this is. Vaguely, she wonders if he's locked his window -- in the same second, she considers picking the lock. But it feels important for Scott to be the one to decide to let her in, if he wants to. Like, breaking into his room feels like it would be breaking his trust, in a way. No matter how upset she is, she can't do something like that unless things get way worse.
But she wants to be in there. Whatever's afflicting him, locking himself away can't be the way to cope with it. Her fingers tighten lightly around the doorknob as she adds a quiet,] Please. Let me help.
