Character Name: Scott Summers
Character Canon: XMCU
Canon Point: Before being taken to Xavier's Institute
Age: 16
Crime: Attempted murder, back of left hand.
When awakening his powers, Scott almost killed another student that was bullying him. This was completely accidental and he would fully claim that he would never want to actually hurt him, but it's fun to tease Scott and poke him further about this feeling/what happened that day. :>
Background: Here! But waves hands at 'Logan' being part of the timeline--
Personality:
Cyclops, the focused field leader of the X-Men... except he's still a pouty teenager with self-confidence issues
Even before awakening his uncontrollable optic blasts, Scott's shown to be a teen with a slight chip on his shoulder. Although not fully elaborated on, he appears to be someone that doesn't easily make friends and often gets in trouble at school, since his teacher once remarked that he 'knows his way to the principal's office.' While he's not someone that goes out of his way to cause trouble in class, he's the type to skip school when he doesn't feel like attending-- something that he later does at Xavier's Institute and that's when he's actually in a good mood, when he's maybe found a place to finally fit in. But this Scott is before that, before finding his place with the other mutants. He's an outcast that's made even more into one because of his powers and getting (presumably) expelled from his old school from destroying the boy's bathroom and injuring a student.
Which is another thing that remains unresolved for him at this time, he still thinks that he has to keep his eyes shut forever or he'll harm someone again. While he puts up the normal teenage defense of 'I don't care about anyone,' it's clear that he's afraid of opening his eyes and letting that incident at school repeat once more. A part of him seems to have accepted that he's just going to be lying on his bed with a bandage over his eyes until he dies, but he'd rather have that than blasting someone apart. It's clear that he's genuinely a good kid deep down, but he's also scared and anxious. It's an emotion that comes out in a probably expected teenage display of anger and defensiveness, something that his parents remark upon and even Alex, his older brother, seems used to. But it's also Alex that's truly able to help him by convincing him to go along with him to Xavier's Institute later, but that's mostly due to him being the only adult that Scott seems to like and look up to at this time. While he may never say it to Alex himself, he considers him a hero and someone that's going to do great things-- with an implication that he doesn't think he'll be that kind of person.
So yeah, self-confidence issues. While normal for someone around his age, Scott isn't someone that seems to have any real goal in mind, but it unfortunately contributes to the idea that he won't amount to much and having mutant powers that he can't control really doesn't help with that. What can he do to contribute to society? How is he supposed to fit back in? He thinks that he'll just be a freak and danger to most and he doesn't seem to believe that anyone can actually help him. Even when he later gets his glasses, there are a couple of scenes that still shows Scott being anxious and unsure about his powers, hesitating about using them.
He has the capacity to open up, to be a leader, but he's still many steps away from being that person. Or sometimes extreme circumstances can pull that behavior up from him, like something world ending, but that probably won't happen. As of now, he's a scared teen that's even more uncertain about his future, but he's trying to hide that feeling behind a wall that's composed of him pretending not to care, anger, and some sass for good measure.
Abilities: Scott can fire powerful optic blasts from his eyes, strong enough to tear a large tree in half and break through metal walls. They actually don't generate heat and are more of a 'concussive force,' but sometimes you see heat in the movies because they either want to make it flashy or there's just a lot of friction being made. idk superhero powers are weird.
Unfortunately, Scott can't control them and they are continuously shooting out of his eyes. He needs his visor in order to control them or his sunglasses to block them... which he doesn't know is even an option at this point. :')

Actions during the TDM: Besides pouting and sulking and slowly believing everyone that he's now trapped in a cave prison, he's slowly been trying to make his way around his new found 'home.' It's a slow process for him, because he's pretty much blind without his sunglasses, so a lot of leaning against the wall/guardrails and getting help from others as he gets himself familiar with everything. He probably talked to the shop NPCs at this point, but I doubt he's bargained with them for anything.
He also used the walkie-talkie, but that's something he was probably able to figure out quickly for once. He mostly just listened in on other conversations.
