NAME: Scott Summers
AGE: 17
CANON: XMCU
CANON POINT: Post-Apocalypse
CRAU: n/a
OTHER: Because of the nature of his powers, Scott will probably need to wake up with his glasses. If he doesn't have his glasses, he can't really open his eyes or he'll blast everything in front of him.
SUITABILITY: With this canon point, Scott's currently in training to be the future leader of the X-Men. While he just helped save the world from an all powerful mutant, that was just the start of his 'career' as a superhero. He's learned that the world is a lot bigger the the crappy public school that he went to, first expanding his worldview when he became a mutant, and now as a X-Man that's being trained to be a good representative of mutants everywhere. I think it would further be interesting to challenge Scott if he got teleported to an alien casino like this. He might even take this as his first 'mission' since being an official X-Man and I want to see how he'd react and handle it, even if sex is the main function of Golden Peacock.

Maybe depending on CR, he will loosen up and really trust others, maybe even put on hold what it means to be the leader of the X-Men and act like a 'regular' teen more. Well, as normal as one can be, given the circumstances. It will be good for him, really. Perhaps he can figure out that it's okay to be both. It will definitely be jarring for Scott, switching from training as a child soldier to 'just having fun' in a casino like this, but I feel like it would be an interesting dynamic to write about. It will also be neat for Scott to live in an environment where mutants aren't the norm and be around aliens/humans, especially since he just started to get used to living at Xavier's Institute.

HISTORY: Scott Summers lived a relatively normal life until he was 16 years old. Then his eyes started to hurt in the middle of class, prompting him to run to the bathroom. Unfortunately, your standard movie bully jock followed him in and threatened to kick his ass, which combined with the constant banging on the bathroom door where Scott was hiding in, eventually pushed Scott to let his eyes open. Predictably, this not only blasted the door open, but injured the student and partially destroyed the school bathroom in the process. He thought his life was over, as he needed to wear a bandage over his eyes or he might hurt someone again, but luckily that's when his older brother Alex brought him to Xavier's Institute.

At first, he didn't really fit in, as he still needed to wear a bandage, even calling one Jean Grey 'weird,' but eventually, Professor McCoy managed to create special glasses for him to wear. So, even though he views the world in different shades of red, he can at least see. This was a great boost to his confidence, so he decided to play hooky and took Jean, Kurt, and Jubliee on a little trip to the mall, just so that they can have fun and feel normal just for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, when they returned to the mansion, it was destroyed and his brother Alex was the one casualty in the explosion.

But hey, no time to mourn, because several mutants got kidnapped by Stryker. Taking charge, Scott led Jean and Kurt to the military base where the mutants were held. They snuck around, released some obscure mutant named Wolverine out in the wild, and eventually rescued the kidnapped mutants (Raven, Hank, Peter, and a non-mutant named Moira). However, the day isn't saved yet, because there's a mutant named Apocalypse that needs to be stopped, so they all work together to stop him from taking over/destroying the world. Standard hero business.

The mansion gets rebuilt, which good, but unfortunately, the large destruction of major cities and the disarming of nuclear weapons from Apocalypse made human-mutant relations tense, so that's when Charles Xavier, Hank, and Raven, all figured that it would be best to start training a brand new X-Men team to not only protect mutants, but humanity as well.

ABILITIES: Scott can fire powerful optic blasts from his eyes, strong enough to tear a large tree in half and break through metal walls. They actually don't generate heat and are more of a 'concussive force,' but sometimes you see heat in the movies because they either want to make it flashy or there's just a lot of friction being made. idk superhero powers are weird. Unfortunately, Scott can't control them and they are continuously shooting out of his eyes. He needs his visor in order to control them to any degree or his sunglasses to block them. He's also currently being trained as a X-Man by one Raven Darkholme, so I imagine that he knows some basic close combat skills.

VICES:

Anxiety: So suddenly being chosen to be the future leader of the X-Men? That's a lot of stress to put on a teenager. Not only is he trying to live up to the legacy of his deceased brother, who was part of the original X-Men team in Cuba, but also the legacy of being a X-Man in general. He knows it's important and that it's a great responsibility, so he doesn't want to screw up. It doesn't help that all of the original X-Men, besides Raven and Hank, are dead and he doesn't want to lose his new found family/friends. Before he got his powers, he never really seemed to think too much of himself, so having something to actually really care for? A goal that he wants to achieve? It really matters. He's nervous a lot, even if he tries to hide it. It doesn't help that of the newly formed X-Men team, he's the only one (besides Jean) that can't control his powers, not to mention that he's the mutant that's had his powers for the least amount of time. He just doesn't want to disappoint his teammates or Professor Xavier.

Immature: So just because one is training to become the leader of a superhero team doesn't mean they magically instantly mature. Scott, before he became a mutant, was shown to be a bit of an outcast and loner, often getting in trouble at school and making smartass remarks to the people around him even when they're trying to help. In general, he acted like he had a chip on his shoulder. While a lot of that has been toned down since joining Xavier's and becoming a X-Man, those characteristics are still present. After all, he did 'borrow' Xavier's car and skipped class one day after arriving at the school. He can still be a smartass to others, even to people he likes. Scott probably can still get defensive or emotional about things, even if he tries not to. He also probably would be the type to indulge in some of the activities at the casino just because they're fun or spend too much money, especially when he slips on the whole 'be the leader of the X-Men' mentality.

VIRTUES:

Leader: Even before becoming the chosen future leader of the X-Men, Scott is the one that took charge when several mutants were kidnapped. It was almost natural to him, not only being able to be calm, but push back the pain of just losing his brother so that he can focus and direct Kurt and Jean. He has decent ideas, but more importantly, Scott is really good at trusting his friends and their powers. He'll listen to their advice and work with them in order to make sure that they can get the job done. In essence, he's definitely in 'Cyclops' mode when someone's in danger or needs help and he can easily focus when those sort of situations arise, no matter how he's personally feeling at the moment.

Empathetic: While Scott can come off as grouchy at first, it really doesn't take long for him to bond with the other mutants at Xavier's. He works really well with people who are viewed as outcasts or don't fit in with others, because it's implied that he was like that in his old school, even before he became a mutant. Even at the mansion, where Jean is socially isolated from other mutants because of her powers, he doesn't let that stop him from befriending her. It helps, that like her, he can't really control his powers. He knows how it feels and it allows them to bond quickly. He also easily accepts Kurt when he just arrived at the mansion and despite being blue and having a tail, Scott also invites him to join their outing at the mall. A big thing for Scott is knowing that sometimes you want to feel normal even if aren't and helping those people feel like that, even if it's temporary.

Goodhearted: All in all, Scott really just wants to do the right thing. It's why he doesn't think twice about risking his life to save the older mutants and that mindset can easily be applied to just helping others if they're in danger. He did get placed on the X-Men team for a reason. He wants to do good with his powers, even if things are going to become hard for him now that relations have become tense once more between humans and mutants. He knows what it's like to live a relatively peaceful life where mutants were accepted and he wants that to continue on in the future. He definitely believes in Xavier's dream still and it would be hard to change Scott's mind or try and make him give up.

SUIT REQUESTS:

Spades: Since Scott is genuinely good, it'd be fun to focus on one of his biggest vices: anxiety. He definitely worries about a lot of things and in this state, he'd probably end up seeking/needing a lot of support and comfort from others until the effects return to normal. This could help him in developing deeper bonds with some CR faster. On the other hand, he might also become a lot more volatile and emotional, lashing out either through anger and other such feelings. It may help him even confront stuff like the death of his brother that he's been keeping in or focus on the fears that he has, like losing his new found family and friends.

Clubs: it's opposite of his last suit from my first app A part of Scott is his self-control, or at least in young Scott's case, learning self-control so that he can be an effective leader and also make sure he doesn't do anything rash with his powers. And he's putting a lot of effort into that back home! However, the clubs suit will be designed to target that self-control, and I think it would create an interesting dynamic. It might result in him reverting back to some of his more reckless tendencies before he started training, which may actually help him feel like a 'regular' teen instead of a X-Man in training. It might help in getting him into places he normally wouldn't try.
